The Thorncombe Breakfast Club was set up in April 2006 by like-minded folk who felt that there would be some interest in eating a breakfast or brunch out somewhere local. The aim of this enterprise is to give people an
opportunity to catch up with friends and
family, not to mention as a way to raise some funds for local groups and societies that might not have a regular income. They have to work for it though! The charity of the month provides some staff for the kitchen to help the proceedings along.

The profits raised in the first two years have reached over £3500 and were donated to organisations including The Swimming Pool, Jumping Beans playgroup, the Holditch Hall, the playground, Thorncombe Village Trust, the school's Parents and Friends Association, Art Club, First Responders, Cricket Club and the Village Hall/Breakfast Club combined.

Along with the traditional cooked breakfast in 2 different 'sizes', people can also indulge in continental breakfasts, sausage or bacon baps or sandwiches or a mixture of all. There is even a Chefs Special 3 Course Breakfast not to mention free refills for tea and coffee. Since we launched into our 3rd year in April 2008 we now source our meats and from Barleymow's Farm Shop in Chard. Our free range eggs have always come from local farmer, Heather Holland so we do our best to keep it local wherever possible.

Opening Times
The Breakfast Club is open for business on the 3rd Sunday morning of every month excluding August, when it is closed for the summer break. Doors open at 9.00am and close at 11.00am. There are also a couple of local stalls selling jams, pickles, pies, chickens and eggs. Come and join us, it's a great way of mingling with friends and neighbours and the atmosphere is always buzzing!
