"Artsreach" is Dorset's rural art's development agency and is an educational charity which was set up about fourteen years ago to bring live arts and theatre to people living in smaller rural communities of the country.

It is funded by grants from local authorities which enables seat prices to be set at a level which allows all parts of the community to attend.

It works in partnership with around 50 local communities, of which Thorncombe is one in promoting professional performances and visual arts. In any one year upwards of 11,000 people attend Artsreach performances.

During the school holidays it also puts a special focus on creative activities for younger people.
