When all seats are occupied Thorncombe Parish Council has 9 councillors. They are assisted by the Clerk to the Council who is the Chief Administrator.

The present Council was elected in 2007 and sits for a term of four years. There are still vacancies on the current Parish Council so if you are keen to help shape the future of Thorncombe and 'make a difference' then why not consider standing as a candidate?

The Council usually meets on the first Tuesday of each month except during August, when there is no meeting. Come along and find out what we do on your behalf. There is a democratic half-hour where you can raise issues.

Parish councils raise their money through the Parish Precept. This is a charge added to the Council Tax. It is typically £15-20 per year for a D-band property. This raises about £5,000 per year. See the Finance page for more details on how the money is spent. Parish Councillors are unpaid and receive no allowance, except £40 per annum for the chairman. The Clerk is a part time employee of the council.

Information about Meetings is displayed on the Notice Boards in Thorncombe and Holditch as well as on this site.
